According to the promoters of heavyweight contender Filip Hrgovic, Tony Yoka of France (pictured) will enter into negotiations to fight Hrgovic in an IBF final elimination bout. The Sauerland Brothers (Kalle and Nisse) Twitter account made this post: "Tony Yoka has formally accepted tonight in writing the challenge to fight Filip Hrgovic in a final IBF eliminator for the heavyweight world championship - El Animal has found a dance partner." A few points: Hrgovic's last amateur fight was a split decision loss to Yoka. It took place in the 2020 Olympic semifinals, with Yoka going on to beat Joe Joyce and win gold. Hrgovic took home bronze. Hrgovic and Yoka also fought in 2015 with Yoka winning, and all the way back in 2010 with Hrgovic winning the battle of teenagers. If the promoters cannot agree to terms, the IBF will schedule a purse bid, so this fight is far from definite to happen.
