Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins shocked Antonio Tarver at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey to capture the recognized light heavyweight championship of the world. Hopkins, a 3-1 underdog coming in, won the bout surprisingly easily, consistently beating the stronger Tarver to the punch all night long. All three judges scored the bout 118-109 for Hopkins. Neither of Boxingtalk's ringside reporters scored a single round for Tarver. MUCH MORE FROM ATLANTIC CITY TO FOLLOW!
