Last week the Bernard Hopkins-Jermain Taylor fight ran into a wall when Golden Boy Promotions and DiBella Entertainment were unable to finalize a deal. Sources close to the situation informed that a $500,000 increase Taylor's guaranteed purse would have gotten the deal done. Now that Golden CEO Richard Schaefer has returned from vacation, he and Taylor's promoter Lou DiBella are again trying to finalize the Hopkins-Taylor bout for a July HBO PPV. The $500,000 gap has already been sliced down a bit, and both sides are cautiously optimistic an agreement can be reached.
