Hopkins Calls Out George Foreman!

Part III

GL: It has been circulating that Oscar's bad back has been acting up as of late. Couple that with the fact that he hasn't fought twice in four months for as long as I can remember and there's still a lot of skepticism about this September fight coming off, what's your take on that? "Listen, De La Hoya had a back problems at the press conference, I've had a bad back for three years. The bottom line is $40M+. Let me say that again to you, $40M+! It's easy for people to say I've turned fights down, but how can he turn down $40M? If you ask the average person to fight God for $40M, they would try to fight God. That's a whole lot of money Greg.

"I would fight Foreman for $40M! George Foreman says he wants one more fight, I'll fight George Foreman for $40M. And I'm not joking, I will go right from middleweight straight to heavyweight to go fight George Foreman at any weight he wants. Then I'll be the first middleweight to go to straight to heavyweight without stopping at any other weight classes in between first. You're laughing Greg, but I'm dead serious. I'm the best fighter in the world with 18 defenses, y'all don't seem to think Oscar has a chance, and I'm not saying you're lying, but I will fight George Foreman for $40M before the year is out!

"I'm 40, George is almost 60. Put that together you've got about 100 years in the ring. I'm putting this challenge out to George Foreman. The other day Foreman made a quote that he wanted to take one more fight, well, here I am. I want to be the first middleweight to go right to heavyweight and win.

"Roy did something extraordinary. I want to do something extravagantly extraordinary. I want to go from middleweight to Foreman for $40M. Call Taffet and tell him I am not joking.

"People might say George will kill him like he's going to kill Oscar, well hey, I'm putting the challenge out there. I'm not joking Big George all I need is a few months after I take care of business against Oscar. And guess what Greg? I'm going to beat him because his hands can't hit what his eyes can't see.

"His job is to get me on the ropes and my job is not to be a dope!"
