Honorio-Mtagwa headlines Cicero show in November

Press Release: 8 Count Productions has announced plans for a boxing show at Cicero Stadium on Friday, November 10, 2006, to be headlined by a twelve round featherweight fight between Mexico City's Martin Honorio and Tanzanian native Rogers Mtagwa. The eight-bout card will be broadcast internationally on Telefutura's Solo Boxeo. The twenty six year old Honorio, sporting a record of 23-2-1 with 12 KOs is coming off a unanimous decision over Baudel Cardenas. His seven-year professional career includes wins over Steven Luevano, John Nolasco, Giovanni Andrade and Gamaliel Diaz as well as a draw with Jorge Lacierva. Mtagwa, 22-10-2 with 16 KOs, knocked out Artyom Simonyan on June 16th of this year. In his last bout, he defended his regional title by knocking out Alvin Brown in the fourth round. Undefeated light heavyweight Tavoris Cloud will appear in an eight-round bout and super featherweight Vicente Escobedo will make his Chicagoland debut in an eight round bout. A member of the 2004 United States Olympic team, Escobedo has a 10-1 recod in the pros. Cicero Stadium is located at 1909 S. Laramie, just minutes from the Eisenhower and Stevenson Expressways.
