Former world heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield is looking to continue his pursuit to once again become a champion, and it looks like his journey will take him overseas in Italy. Late last week, Boxingtalk began hearing rumblings that Holyfield could be facing Frank Wood in Milan, Italy! Today, Holyfield confirmed that plans are already in motion to make the first step of a world tour a reality for sometime in September. "It's all about the love from the people," said Holyfield. "It seems the people over there want to see me and I'm ready to give them what they want, we just need to work some stuff out to see if we can get this done." Wood, from Nashville, Tennessee, has a record of 26-3. His biggest wins came in his last two fights, against Quinn Navarre and Rafael Pedro. Wood also beat Kenny Craven last year, and his losses, to Brian Neilsen, Sherman Williams and Leo Nolan, took place back in 1999 and 2002. Holyfield also informed Boxingtalk that his medical suspension stemming from his loss to Larry Donald in New York has been lifted. The Italians are willing to pay him more money than he could make in the United States, so Holyfield is taking these negotiations very seriously. There will be much more to follow so stay tuned, until then, REMEMBER WHERE YOU HEARD IT FIRST! (5:30 PM ET)
