Evander Holyfield TKO2 Jeremy Bates... Evander Holyfield not only won his first fight since 2002, the 43 year-old looked pretty decent in stopping Jeremy Bates in the second round in Dallas. Granted, Bates represented Holyfield's least accomplished oppponent since Seamus McDonagh way back in 1990, but Holyfield did not disgrace himself in the way Riddick Bowe did during his last fight: Holyfield was a ripped 220 pounds, he bounced around on his toes and threw hard punches. He nearly had Bates out at the end of the first round and continued to dole out the punishment in the second until the fight was stopped. Bates had one brief moment where he landed a solid punch to the ex-champ's face. Holyfield, now 39-8-2, last won in 2002 against Hasim Rahman. Bates is a D-level heavyweight at best, but this was a feel-good night for Evander, and if anyone has earned a couple of easy fights to go out on a high note, its the Real Deal. source: Fox Sports
