Holyfield continues March towards Fifth World Title

GL: Can you tell us what we can expect to see from the Real Deal on Saturday night?  "Of course I'm looking forward to showing people that this I'm getting better with every fight. I'm looking forward to doing something even better than I did in my last fight and I'm on a mission to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world again."

GL: Do you consider Lou Savarese a step up from Fres Oquendo?

Evander Holyfield: "Of course he's a step up. He's got a good record. I think he's 46-6 or something like that. He's fought skillful fighters and it's one of those things where we're both got the same goal so we've got to face each other."

GL: Do you see him going the distance?

EH: "I don't know that remains to be seen. I guess if a man is willing to endure what you bring, he will. If he's not he won't. He has to be in shape to take what I'm coming to give him without the referee stopping it, so that remains to be seen."

GL: What do you credit most of your comeback and the winning streak your on to?

EH: "Faith. My faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I realized that we all have setbacks, it's just how we deal with them. I think I've made that adjustment properly and I haven't let anything take me away from my goal so here I am."

GL: What caused you to get back together with Main Events?

EH: "I realized that with me trying to promote my fight, I pretty much didn't know what I was doing and I found out that I'm going to go with a promoter who knew. With Murad, I let him be the promoter and use my name. He used my name and made me his partner, but realistically I got ripped off for $2M and I didn't get paid for a fight that I should have gotten paid for and I learned from my mistake...

GL: (cutting in) And that fight is the Oquendo fight.

EH: "Yeah. I signed the contract with Main Events because they know what they're doing and they're professional."

GL: So you got stiffed on all of your money for that fight?

EH: "I sure did, I got stiffed."

GL: Good luck on Saturday night, is there anything you'd like to say in closing?

EH: "Let the fans know that I'm ready and to watch this fight live on PPV."
