Press Release: Dennis Hobson and Bob Arum announced yesterday that Ricky Hatton will square off against Jose Luis Castillo at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas on June 23, 2007. Hatton and Castillo were on hand at the 235 Casino in Manchester, England when the promoters confirmed the date and location for this greatly anticipated showdown. Both fighters predicted victory and Hatton admitted that Castillo would be his toughest challenge so far in a 42 bout career. "The Hitman" will commence a three and a half month training regimen that will end with three weeks in Las Vegas. Although Hatton is the legitimate world champion at 140 pounds, he gave up the IBF title to take this bout and instead will enter the ring wearing the IBO light welterweight belt.
