Hlatshwayo tops Baloyi

Isaac Hlatshwayo must now be considered one of the elitle lightweights in the world after he topped Cassius Baloyi in an all-South African showdown Wednesday. Already rated #11 in the world by Boxingtalk, the little-known Hlatshwayo won by scores of 119-108, 117-112 and 116-112 to improve to 21-0 and claim the vacant IBO title.  Baloyi, a top junior lightweight, fell to 32-2. He was dropped in the second round by Hlatshwayo.  On the same show in Brakpan, South Africa, Andre Thysse pulled out the twelfth round and retained his domestic super middleweight title by close points win (116-113, 115-113 and 116-114) over Daniel Bruwer. Also, Malcolm Klassen  won by split decision against former champion Edward Mpofu to win the vacant South African featherweight title. source: supersport zone
