Press Release: There will be two British championship bouts scheduled on a Hennessy Sports card on May 12, 2006 at the York Hall in London's Bethnal Green. Lenny Daws will meet Nigel Wright at light welterweight following and friends and teammates Lee Meager and Dave Stewart will face off at lightweight. Both titles are currently vacant. Meager-Stewart had been pencilled for April 7th, but Stewart needed some time to recover from a cut eye he suffered against Jason Nesbitt in February. "This looks set to be a great night of British boxing," said Hennessy Sports head Mick Hennessy. "There should be an incredible atmosphere. You have two vacant titles being contested by the most eligible contenders. Many will see the fights as classic 50-50 affairs. In both you have boxers at very similar stages of their career. Daws, who holds an amateur win over Wright, landed his opportunity by stopping Colin Lynes in impressive style in January at the York Hall. The doubleheader will be covered live by Sky Sports.
