Hector Camacho Jr. Has Seen the Light

"I am going to prove who I am in this fight."

BoxingTalk:  Hector, how are things?  What’s the latest?

Hector Camacho Jr.:  The latest is that I’m in shape.  There’s a rumor going around that I don’t come in shape, but I’m in shape and on weight.  This is a great opportunity to prove that I’m back.

BoxingTalk:  You have a fight coming up June 10th, how is preparation for that fight going?

Hector Camacho Jr.:  Preparation is going well.  This is the best camp I’ve had in a long time.  I see the light now.  I’m back on HBO, and I’m looking for the big names after this.  Like the De La Hoya’s, the Gatti’s, and the Mayweather’s.

BoxingTalk:  You said that you see the light now.  What light do you see that you didn’t see before?

Hector Camacho Jr.:  It’s the motivation factor.  I had promotional and managerial problems, and I lost my motivation, but after this big fight hopefully I can get a date with Judah, Hatton, De La Hoya, or Mayweather.

BoxingTalk:  What do you know about your opponent Andrey Tsurkan?

Hector Camacho Jr.:  I know this c__k-suckin’ Russian can fight.  The problem is that he’s facing a man that is motivated.  I am going to prove who I am in this fight.

BoxingTalk:  How much do you feel being on the undercard of Tarver-Hopkins will help out your career?

Hector Camacho Jr.:  It’s a big fight, and it’s good exposure.  But Tarver and Hopkins are old guys, and I’m going to steal the show.

BoxingTalk:  With over forty fights professional fights under your belt, do you feel your career is at the place you want it to be at?

Hector Camacho Jr.:  No body is going to think that it is.  When I was 21, I was ranked all over, but things happen.  This is boxing.  I’m still young, and I’m still here.

BoxingTalk:  There are a lot of fighters out there who have half the fights that you do that have either been champion or fought for a major title.  Why has that not been the case in your career?

Hector Camacho Jr.:  I don’t know Darren, I was on HBO when I was 21.  I was still a baby going up against guys like Jesse James Leija.  I’m only 27.  You have seen what happens to guys like David Reid and Fernando Vargas.

BoxingTalk:  What statement are you looking to make on June 10th?

Hector Camacho Jr.:  I’m going to prove that I’m back.  Thanks to my trainer, you are going to see me bang to the body, work off my jab, and come away victorious.

BoxingTalk:  How much would you like a rematch with Omar Weis before you retire?

Hector Camacho Jr.:  I give him credit.  He was the better man that night, but I’ll beat his ass tomorrow or whenever he’s ready.

BoxingTalk:  What is you father up to?  What’s the latest with him?

Hector Camacho Jr.:  You’ll see him at the fight, yelling and cheering me on on June 10th.
