Hearns stops Clavette in six

Ronald Hearns TKO6 Paul Clavette... Junior middleweight Ronald Hearns improved his record to 21-0 with a sixth round technical knockout of Paul Clavette (14-2-1) in Montreal.  Hearns recorded his seventeenth knockout in a glorified sparring session.  Clavette, the former kickboxer could not match the handspeed or power of Hearns, who knocked Clavette down twice in the sixth round.  The referee finally stopped the fight whenm Clavette failed to defend himself.  With his perfect record, 6'3" frame and a famous last name courtesy of his father former multi-division champion Thomas, Ronald Hearns moved a step closer to being a viable contender tonight. A rumored fight with John Duddy next year, if it materializes, would be the biggest name on Hearn's resume. source: shobox on showtime
