Las Vegas-Moments ago Boxingtalk contacted Bob Arum, who is currently in England for the Hatton-Castillo press conference. Coincidentally, Arum was at dinner with Jose Luis Castillo and Ricky Hatton and BT was able to speak to both fighters directly. Hatton told Boxingtalk.com that he wasn't eating at this dinner because he's on a diet, but he wanted to provide "Jose Luis" with a warm welcome. When asked why he decided to vacate his IBF strap Hatton stated, "I think Jose Luis is a much better fighter than Lovemore N'dou and that's just the way it is. I want to give the fans good fights and I think Jose Luis is a pound for pounder so it was an easy decision." Castillo told BT he's never had dinner with any of his opponents prior to a press conference. "I was really surprised, but he's a gentleman and I'm a gentleman but this is refreshing," stated Castillo, who addded that he didn't feel good going into his last fight, but was "pleased to be able to get twelve rounds under my belt to prepare for Hatton." Bob Arum concluded by saying, "This is how boxing as 25 years ago. Things are supposed to be civilized where two guys can sit together as gentleman outside of the ring. But believe me when these two get in the ring, it's going to be a war."
