Harrison-Polo Fight To A Draw In Scotland!

Veteran Victor Polo, who said he would retire if he lost, may have been robbed of the WBO featherweight title against Scott Harrison in Harrison's hometown, Glasgow, on Friday. The bout was scored a draw: 116-113 (Polo), 115-113 (Harrison) and 114-114 but the BBC reports that Polo deserved the win. Polo opened up a cut under Harrison's eye in the first round. Harrison ignored the cut and had a strong fourth and fifth rounds but seemed to tire soon after. Ringside reports had Harrison landing a few big punches but generally getting outboxed by Polo, now 34-4-2.  Harrison's eye was practically closed by the championship rounds. The Colombian Polo appeared to win a world title in his fourth attempt, two of which resulted in split decision losses and now this draw gets added to his list of heartbreaks.  Harrison will likely try to cash out in a big money fight against Marco Antonio Barrera, Boxingtalk's #1 junior lightweight, unless the WBC forces Barrera to face mandatory challenger Mzonke Fana first.  source: BBC
