Vivian Harris will exercise his contractual right to a rematch with newly crowned WBA junior welterweight champion Carlos Maussa. The WBA has a mandatory due but sources close to Main Events, who now promotes Maussa as well, have informed us that Manny Steward will file a protest demanding an immediate rematch due to Harris getting hit while he was down. One thing's for sure, Maussa's next fight will either be the mandatory or the Harris rematch. Anything you else you may read, is pure "rubbish". Boxingtalk also found it peculiar to say that least, that Frank Warren has the audacity to call Harris a fool, when he's coming on the record speaking as if he's still Hatton's promoter or something. After all of the garbage we've seen Warren put on over the years one has to wonder how many people found it laughable to hear him to describe ANY other fight as rubbish. (8:15 PM ET)
