Harold Lederman loses battle to cancer

Arguably the greatest boxing judge of his generation, Harold Lederman passed away over the weekend at age 79, losing his battle against cancer. Lederman was one of the sport's leading judges in the 1970s and 1980s before becoming an HBO commentator. In that role, Lederman was respected and loved by millions of fans, who came to trust him as the voice of reason when, as too often is the case in boxing, the official judges screwed things up.  Many boxers, robbed by bad decisions, took great comfort in pointing to Lederman's on-air scorecards as proof of their injustices. Harold is survived by a wife and two daughter. One of his daughters is Julie Lederman, who is arguably the greatest judge of her generation. Boxingtalk sends its deepest condolences to the family and many friends of the great Harold Lederman. MORE TO FOLLOW
