Habazin wins vacant WBC welterweight title

Ivana Habazin W10 Kinga Magyar ... Croatia's Ivana Habazin is the new WBC welterweight champion after defeating Hungary's Kinga Magyar via unanimous decision. The fight was held at the KC Drazen Petrovic in Zagreb, Croatia and to achieve victory, Habazin utilized a firm defense mixed with  a constant attack to control the action for most of the fight. Magyar unsuccesfully sought a face-to-face confrontation, and the judges scored it 97-93, 99-92 and 98-92 for Habazin, who improves her record to 23 wins with 5 losses and 7 knockouts. Habazin also acquires the WBA interim champion and can look towards unification vs. the winner of world champion Jessica McCaskill's defense against Lauren Price next month.  Magyar left the ring with a record of 14-5 with 4 KOs.
