HEIR APPARENT ASCENDS TO THRONE

In Las Vegas on Saturday night, Jermain Taylor ended Bernard Hopkins' long reign atop the middleweight division. Taylor started strong and withstood a late rally by Hopkins to win a split decision by scores of 115-113 (twice) and 112-116. Taylor was cut on top of his head from an accidental headbutt in the middle rounds.
