Leading up to the highly anticipated super welterweight title match between Oscar De La Hoya and Ricardo Mayorga -- set for Saturday, May 6 in Las Vegas, and carried live on HBO Pay-Per-View -- HBO Sports will present the exclusive back-to-back replay of two action-packed fights showcasing their considerable talents.

           

            On Friday, May 5, at 11:00 p.m. (ET/PT) and Saturday, May 6, at 3:15 p.m. (ET/PT), HBO2 will replay DE LA HOYA VS. VARGAS 2002 and MAYORGA VS. FORREST I 2003.  The De La Hoya-Vargas fight, which took place Sept. 14, 2002, was an action-packed slugfest between two bitter rivals, with Oscar De La Hoya scoring an 11th-round knockout of “Ferocious” Fernando Vargas.  The first Mayorga-Forrest fight, held on Jan. 25, 2003, was a battle from the opening bell, and featured the dangerous Ricardo “El Matador” Mayorga in a stunning third-round KO over then-champion Vernon Forrest.

           

            Both fights are currently available to HBO On Demand subscribers and can be seen through May 15.

           

            On Saturday, May 6 at 9:00 p.m. ET/ 6:00 p.m. PT, HBO Pay-Per-View will present the super welterweight title match De La Hoya vs. Mayorga live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
