Griffin, Mormeck wins highlight St. Louis undercard

Randy Griffin W12 Maeslino Masoe... Randy Griffin, 23-1-2, established himself as a middleweight contender with a unanimous twelve-round decision win over Maselino Masoe, 26-3, in a WBA eliminator. Griffin said afterwards, “Masoe is a former world champion [Editor's note: actually Masoe was a WBA regular title holder during the super champion reigns of Bernard Hopkins and Jermain Taylor] and a real tough guy.  He took everything I threw but I out-worked him. I want Felix Sturm next and a shot at the World Boxing Association [regular] middleweight title.”

Jean-Marc Mormeck TKO4 Sebastian Hill... Coming back from losing his cruiserweight world championship to O'Neill Bell, Jean-Marc Mormeck stopped Sebastian Hill, 10-13-1, in the fourth round. Mormeck, now 31-3, said, “I am very happy with my performance tonight.  I want my world titles back and it doesn’t matter with whom.  I just want to win another world title. It would please me most if Don King could stage my next fight in my homeland of France."

Devon Alexander TKO1 Tyler Ziolkowski... St. Louis prospect Devon Alexander moved up to 9-0 with a first round win over Tyler Ziolkowski, now 8-4. Alexander said, “My trainer and I focused on slowing down and turning over my punches so I’ll have more power.  I’m still transitioning from amateur to pro but the power is coming." Alexander's trainer is Kevin Cunningham, who also trains Cory Spinks. Cunninghm said, "he knocked Zilokowski out with a right hook.  That’s a good sign that the work we did in camp focusing on slowing down and developing his power is working.  He’s sitting down on his punches more and landing power shots.” source for all results: DKP press release
