Greene serves up fillet of Salmon in less than three minutes

Joe Greene KO1 Darryl Salmon... In Hollywood, Florida, Brooklyn's Mean Joe Greene suffered a flash knockdown but quickly disposed of Darryl Salmon, dropping him face first for a ten count just before the end of the first round.  Salmon was credited with a knockdown when he landed a solid blow that did not hurt Greene, but caused him to touch his hand to the canvas to brace himself. Greene hurt Salmon a few seconds later, and then just before the bell to end the first round was to ring, Greene landed a left hook that dropped Salmon for a ten count plus. Now 16-0, Greene won his second fight under the Warriors promotional banner. He also collected a regional middleweight belt tonight. Salmon drops to 16-2, but he really hadn't faced anyone of note until tonight. source: espn2 wednesday night fights

Francisco Palacios TKO6 Louis Azille... Unbeaten but previously untested Francisco Palacios took a big risk by accepting a fight against former cruiserweight contender Louis Azille on just five day's notice.  The gamble paid off in a big way as the 30-year old Palacios scored the biggest win of his career via seventh-round technical knockout. After five close rounds in which Azille stalked and Palacios boxed, Palacios landed a terrific right uppercut-left hook combination in the sixth that put the veteran Azille on the deck. Azille got up, but Palacios landed four solid head shots that had Azille stunned, and the referee had seen enough. Palacios, a little known Puerto Rican southpaw, is now 12-0 and has a quality name on his resume. Azille was training for a bout with O'Neil Bell until Bell went AWOL. He is now 19-4-2, and having fought three former or future world title holders in Wayne Braithwaite, Imamu Mayfield and Kelvin Davis, he deserves at least one more chance before being written off. source: espn2 wednesday night fights
