GL: Can you give us some thoughts on the whole glove debacle that took place at MSG last weekend? "It all worked out because it was God's plan and that's the way it was meant to be and at the end of the day, as always, we turned a negative into a positive. Trinidad's father is a nut and the lawyer, they looked for every looked for every little possible thing that they felt was an advantage to them and a disadvantage to the other fighter. I think that it was reallly a classless act on their part to have forced Roy Jones to wear those gloves. He's never fought in them before and after almost 60 fights it was really unfair and only moreso since Trinidad wasn't champion and all of that. It just was really a classless move. Then when Don King tried to mediate with them, he invited Trinidad and them to Roy's suite so they can all sit down like gentleman and work it out and they never showed up. The father and Medina basically blew it off and wouldn't even hear him out."
GL: At the end of the day Grant still got pretty good exposure.
Grant Elvis Phillips: "Roy Jones showed us mad love. I don't think there's any other company in boxing, unless they're writing big checks like the people whose gloves got used, will get so much love from the fighters. I appreciate Roy being a stand up guy, Winky Wright did the same thing for me. Kevin Cunningham did the same thing for me with Cory Spinks, Wladimir Kltischko, they all fight for me and it just comes down to me keeping it real. Medina and Papa Trinidad and Felix can take their hibero asses back to PR because after all of their bullshit, he still got his assed whooped. If Jones would have had Grant's like he said, he wouldn't have jammed his knuckle and he would have put him away."
