Montana's Augare and new York's Gotti produced fireworks from the opening bell of their first encounter, engaging in a back-and-forth battle that Augare won via third round stoppage. Gotti III now looks to turn the tables on "Eagle Boy" over six rounds in Hartford. Stamford middleweight Douglas Marroquin (11-0, 6 KOs) hopes to continues his rise against rugged New Yorker Lasha Gurguliani (20-6, 9 KOs) in a six-round bout. Marroquin is emerging as one of the region’s promising young fighters, but Gurguliani represents the most experienced opponent of his professional career.
Twenty-year old Joseph "J-Elite" Chisholm (8-1, 7 KOs) brings his explosive power to Hartford when he battles Texan Dominique Griffin (7-14-2, 2 KOs) in a six-round featherweight shootout. With seven knockouts in eight victories, Chisholm will look to deliver another early ending against the more experienced Griffin.
Popular Hamden super welterweight Anthony "The Enforcer" Nieves (3-0, 2 KOs) returns for the second time in three months when he collides with St. Louis’ Jaylon Green (4-3, 2 KOs) in a four-round battle.
Marroquin’s stablemate, Victor Guerra Vargas (3-0, 2 KOs), will compete against Las Vegas-based Cuban Darian Castro (4-0, 1 KO) in a six-round battle of unbeaten welterweights. This is the second unbeaten fighter that the Norwalk-based Venezuelan has faced in as many fights.
Rounding out the card are a pair of junior welterweights in separate bouts as New Haven's Jeffrey Torres (15-2, 8 KOs) returns in an eight-round contest and Waterbury's Kevante Wineglass (5-0, 3 KOs) competes in a six-round matchup. Opponents for Torres and Wineglass will be announced shortly.
The event will be a "Pink Out" in support of the fight against breast cancer. A special fundraiser will be held throughout the evening to benefit the JoAnne M. Sullivan Memorial Fund and its efforts to support breast cancer research. Fans are encouraged to wear pink and join CES Boxing in raising awareness and funds for this important cause.
