Gonzalez added to Chicago card!

EDITED PRESS RELEASE:  Mike Gonzalez, 4-0 with four knockouts, returns to the ring this Friday night, January 6th on the non-televised portion of the new year’s first episode of ShoBox. Headlining the evening is a ten round welterweight showdown between unbeaten welterweight Joel Julio (rated #17 by Boxingtalk) and Roberto “The Doctor” Kamya. Julio, turning 21 years old the day before the fight, is 25-0 with 22 knockouts, twelve of which have come in the first two rounds. Kamya, now fighting out of West Palm Beach, Florida is 15-5 with four knockouts. The televised co-feature will be Raul Martinez vs. Andres Ledesma in an eight-rounds bantamweight bout. Gonzalez will participate in Cicero Stadium show near Chicago, which is being staged by by 8 Count Productions. Born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, raised in the Bronx, New York and now fighting out of Milwaukee, WI, Gonza;ez will be taking on Tony Kinney, just 1-3, in a scheduled four-round lightweight bout. Gonzalez’s first Chicago appearance was a fourth-round TKO over previously undefeated Tommy Pyle in July 15, 2005 at the Aragon Ballroom. Most recently, he knocked out Antoine Hicks in the second round in October.
