Golden Matchmaker: The Show Will Go On!

Despite Jimrex Jaca being unable to acquire a US embassy stamp on his visa in time, Golden Boy Promotions matchmaker Eric Gomez informed Boxingtalk.com that Saturday's HBO PPV is still a go. "We're still going to move forward with the show and we feel that the Lazcano fight and Ponce De Leon fights are going to be really good fights. If Juan Manuel doesn't fight, maybe we'll make it a four fight PPV. We've got some really good fights on the undercard, Penalosa-Mauricio Martinez should be a really exciting fight. Antonio Escalante will be defending his NABO title. Richard is discussing several options with Mark Taffet as we speak, but we're still moving forward," said Gomez, who later added, "Oscar (De La Hoya) and I will be meeting with Juan Manuel in the next hour or so to let them know that Jaca is out and see what they want to do. It's very hard to secure him another opponent on such short notice, becuase he was training for a lefty, but we'll see what he wants to do now that Jaca is out."  More to follow so stay tuned for all the latest.
