Matchroom Boxing and Warriors Boxing both tweeted that former IBF/WBA cruiserweight champion Murat Gassiev (pictured) will end a year of inactivity on July 27th in Houston on the same show where Maurice Hooker and Jose Ramirez unify the WBO and WBC 140-pound titles. Gassiev will move up to heavyweight and meet gatekeeper Joey Dawejko (19-7-4) of Philadelphia.  Gassiev (27-1) has not fought since last July when he lost in the finals of the World Boxing Super Series to Oleksandr Usyk. Dawejko has lost three straight decisions but is rumored to have given Anthony Joshua a tough time in sparring in recent weeks.
