BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing returns to Miami on Saturday, August 29th. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster. In the main event, undefeated BKB heavyweight champion Gustavo “The Cuban Assassin” Trujillo (8-0, 8 KOs) puts his perfect record of first-round knockouts on the line against Mark O’Neil, a 6’5” English heavyweight who is fifty years old.  In the co-feature, Olympic gold medalist and former two-division champion Yuriorkis Gamboa makes his bare knuckle debut against crafty veteran Yesner “Cuajadita” Talavera.

 

Trujillo, a 32 year-old Miami native originally from Cuba, enters the event riding a wave of momentum. In his most recent bare knuckles outing, he defended his BKB title with a 63-second fknockout of former WBA regular champion Lucas “Big Daddy” Browne. The victory extended Trujillo’s streak to eight consecutive first-round finishes, including notable stoppages of Lorenzo Hunt, Ike Villanueva, and Richie Leak.

 

Gamboa, “El Ciclon de Guantanamo” brings elite boxing pedigree and global star power to BKB. The 2004 Olympic flyweight gold medalist for Cuba turned professional in 2007 and compiled a 30-5 record. Gamboa captured the WBA featherweight world title (2009-2011) and unified it with the IBF featherweight crown (2010-2011). He also held WBA interim titles at junior lightweight and lightweight while challenging pound-for-pound greats including Terence Crawford, Devin Haney, Gervonta Davis, and Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz. Crawford has repeatedly called Gamboa one of the toughest opponents of his career, stating that Gamboa landed “the hardest punch” he ever took and describing their fight as one of the most difficult in his legendary run.
