70-30 for Oscar at 154 on May 5, and GBP must promote!
If there is to be a Oscar De La Hoya-Felix Trinidad rematch, Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer laid its terms out to Boxingtalk.com moments ago. 70-30 for De La Hoya at 154 pounds on May 5 and Golden Boy Promotions will promote. According to Schaefer, this is a non-negotiable take it or leave it offer. "King should save his nickels calling me, because he's going to need them paying for Juan Diaz. They know what the deal is. 70-30 at 154, there's nothing to be discussed or negotiated. It's the same kind of deal we had with Mayorga." Even though Team Trinidad received 40% of the first fight, Schafer stated that their 30% of a De La Hoya rematch would still equate to a career high payday for Trinidad. Boxingtalk will be speaking with the Trinidad's later today so stay tuned for a full exclusive interview with Papa Trinidad and Tito Trinidad.  Remember where you heard it first!
