Press release: Promoter Art Pelullo held a press conference today at the Gran Melia Mofarrej Hotel in Sao Paulo, Brazil, for the December 11 fight card at Ginasio Ibirapuera.

Pelullo and main event fighters Acelino "Popo" Freitas and Fernando Saucedo addressed the media. Freitas spoke and answered questions from the podium for about 20 minutes before the fighters, trainers and promoter held one-on-one and small group interviews.

Saturday's fight will be the first in Brazil in nearly four years for Freitas. Before the press conference, he said through an interpreter, "It's a thrill, it's awesome that I'm going to fight at home. People have been sending emails to my webpage and asking me when I would fight here again. It's great to be back and have the support of my fans.

"I had a great training camp in San Antonio, Texas, and I got some good sparring there with Rocky Juarez and Dmitriy Salita. I sparred with some good local fighters there, too.

"After this fight, I just want to take a month off with my wife and rest a little bit. In January or February I'll go back to training. God willing, if everything goes well next year, I will become world champion again and unify the title."

The weigh-win will be held tomorrow at 12:00 noon at the same location.
