Frankie Figueroa to face Lamont Pearson in West Palm Beach

David Estrada tunes up in co-feature for possible Andre Berto fight

PRESS RELEASE: On Saturday July 28, 2007 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach, Florida, 140-pounder Francisco “El Gato” Figueroa fights Lamont Pearson for a vacant regional title. David Estrada will make his third appearance at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. In the co-feature on the Seeno Group card, Estrada is scheduled to face Jerome “Boomer” Ellis (11-6 with 10 KOs).

The Puerto Rican Figueroa (16-2, 12 KOs) from the Bronx New York is facing Lamont Pearson (23-4-1), who has an impressive resume at lighter weight classes but is moving up to 140. Pearson, a slick technician, was stopped in his last outing by Joel Casamayor. Pearson's team felt Casamayor was using dirty tactics in the fight by intentionally causing head butts which in turn cut Pearson close to his eye and led to a stoppage.

Figueroa, now on an eight fight winning streak, holds the New York State title at 140 pounds by beating Joey Rios, who was undefeated at the time. If the charismatic Figueroa manages to beat Pearson he hopes to be recognized as a true contender in his weight class.

"South Florida's Favorite Son" David Estrada makes his third appearance at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. He will be the co-feature on Seeno Group's card and is scheduled to face Jerome “Boomer” Ellis (11-6 with 10 KOs).
Yaseen Malnik of Seeno Group Boxing and Lou Dibella of DiBella Entertainment are in talks to possibly match Estrada against Andre Berto in September if Estrada can get by his challenge on July 28.

Seeno Group’s Saturday Night Showdown under card features many crowd favorites and local prospects. One of which is Seeno Group Boxing's newly signed Abi "La Maquina" Santizo (8-0, 3 KOs) of Chiapas, Mexico. Santizo is cleverly named "La Maquina" which translates to "The Machine". Santizo's non- stop punching and never-say-die attitude makes him one of South Florida's biggest crowd pleasers and ticket sellers.
