Frank Warren and Golden Boy in Discussions about Hopkins-Calzaghe

Bout Could Take Place in March or April at 175lbs on HBO PPV

British promoter Frank Warren revealed that talks have begun with Golden Boy Promotions about a potential match up between world light heavyweight Champion Bernard Hopkins and world super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe.  Just days after Calzaghe won a unanimous decision over Denmark’s Mikkel Kessler, the boxing world has immediately demanded Hopkins-Calzaghe.  Warren explained, "The most important thing, though, is the money side. Hopkins has to realize that if there is 100 on the table he can't walk away with 99 of it,"  The bout would most likely take place at light heavyweight for Bernard Hopkins.  Calzaghe, a ten-year champion at the 168-pound super middleweight limit, has never fought a professional fight above 170.  Although Hopkins is the bigger champion, many view Bernard as the smaller fighter, having spent 15 years of his boxing career at the middleweight limit of 160lbs.  Source: Guardian UK    Â
