Frank James, a boxing trainer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has passed away in a local hospital. Complete details of his cause of death are still coming in, but Boxingtalk spoke with Sergeant Frank Caruso of the Baton Rouge Police Department who confirmed James' death and provided some information. According to Caruso, James was suffering from an internal infection that caused severe internal bleeding. Doctors tried to do surgery to stop the internal bleeding but were not successful, and James passed away shortly afterwards. James worked as the boxing trainer at Gladiator Academy. According to Gladiator Academy's website, James won several amateur and one regional professional title in the late 1970s and 1980s. After his active career ended, James worked with notable boxers Emanuel Augustus and Clifford Ettiene among others. Frank is survived by his wife Tekina, and his two sons, Jy and Tony.
