Press Release: Junior lightweight fringe contender Francisco Lorenzo will face Cristobal Cruz in the co-main event at Cicero Stadium near Chicago this Friday night. The bout is part of December Frenzy, a nine bout evening of boxing. Lorenzo, 26-3 (14KO’s) of the Dominican Republic, is riding a seven bout winning streak including a win over world ranked Nate Campbell on June 14, 2005. The heavy handed Cruz, 33-8 with 22KOs is coming off a sixth-round stoppage of Leonardo Resendiz on September 8, 2006.  His career includes outstanding battles with world ranked fighters including Jorge Solis, Hereberto Ruiz, Juan Ruiz and Jose Miguel Aguiniga. Said promoter Dominic Pesoli, “I’ve seen both of these guys and this has all the makings of a great fight.” Cicero Stadium is located at 1909 S.
