Forrest dominates and scores late TKO

Vernon Forrest TKO11 Michele Piccirillo... WBC junior middleweight champion Vernon Forrest dominated former IBF welterweight titlist Michele Piccirillo at Foxwoods this evening. Forrest controlled the distance, used his jab well and landed his right hand early and often as he won every round on Boxingtalk's scorecard. Forrest scored three knockdowns, the first of which may have come from a rabbit punch behind the Italian's head.  In round nine, Forrest walked Piccirillo into a right hand but was unable to finish him off. The pace slowed in round ten, but Forrest closed the show with a barrage of power shots in the eleventh. The final 1-2 sent Piccirillo crashing to the canvas so awkwardly that he probably broke his ankle and had to be taken off on a gurney. Official time of stoppage was 2:21.
