Unbeaten junior welterweight prospect Yuri Foreman (19-0, 7 KOs) makes his Boston debut February 4 against Jimmy LeBlanc  in “Super Brawl: The Battle of Boston,” presented by New England Ringside Promotions and headlined by middleweight sensation “Ireland’s” John Duddy (14-0, 13 KOs), in the 10-round co-feature at The Castle at Park Plaza in downtown Boston.

Foreman, now rated No. 24 by the World Boxing Council, was born in Belarus and he now lives in Brooklyn. A three-time Israeli amateur champion, Foreman also captured a title in the 2001 New York Golden Gloves. He is rated No. 4 by the NABF, as well as No. 8 by the NABC, No. 10 by the NABO, and No. 13 by the NABA.

Foreman is coming off of an impressive 10-round “shutout” decision (100-90 three times) against Troy Lowry (27-5) last October. He also has defeated previously unbeaten Kevin Cagle (16-0) by decision in eight rounds and Shakir Ashanti (15-8) via second-round TKO.

LeBlanc (11-9-4, 3 K0s), fighting out of South Boston (MA), is coming off of a win against Leo Edwards.

“I’ve never been to Boston, but I’m looking forward to fighting there,” Yuri said. “I’ve heard that there are a lot of good people there and it’s close to my fan base in New York City. I’m going to put on a winning Super Bowl performance the night before the Super Bowl. It’s going to be great with John on the same card, a good mix of Russians and Irish. I can’t wait.”

Duddy, born in Northern Ireland and now fighting out of Queens (NY), is scheduled to fight veteran Julio Jean (7-6-1, 3 KOs) in the headliner. Now rated No. 15 by the World Boxing Association, Duddy will be welcomed with open arms by the large Irish community in Boston.

“We received so many calls from Duddy’s young fans who were disappointed that they couldn’t attend the show (originally a 21+ show at Cyclorama due to its licensing restrictions), along with the addition of Yuri on the card, that we decided to move to a larger venue with no age restrictions, The Castle,” New England Ringside president Rick Brutti explained. “We want to give as many people in Greater Boston an opportunity to see these two great prospects in action.”

Two fights ago, the Haitian-born Jean, now living in Florida, won a unanimous eight-round decision against previously unbeaten Eromosele Albert (10-0), the former Nigerian Olympian.

Scheduled to fight on the Feb. 4 card undercard, in separate bouts, are 4-time New York City Golden Gloves champion Jorge “The Truth” Teron (9-0, 7 KOs), and Quincy super middleweight Chris Traietti (2-0, 1 KO), a Westfield State College student. Florida junior middleweight “Bazooka” Joe Linenfelser (2-0, 2 KOs), the youngest active pro boxer (17 years old) in the United States, has been pulled from the card due to an injury (hyper-extended elbow) suffered at training camp. All bouts and fighters are subject to change. Other bouts will soon be announced.
