Middleweight to face Gabriel Rosado in Maryland

According to his manager, middleweight Fernando Guerrero's next opponent will be Gabriel Rosado (10-2) of Philadelphia, scheduled for February 6, 2009 in Salisbury, Maryland.  Rosado is coming off a unanimous decision win over James Moore, who was  15-0 at the time. Guerrero, the runner-up for Boxingtalk's 2008 Prospect of the Year,  is 12-0 with 11 KOs.  Prizefight Promotions attempted to bring Rosado and Guerrero together for a press conference to discuss this step-up bout, but Rosado is training in California for this fight. Guerrero, meanwhile, is presently training hard in Washington D. C. and working with Barry Hunter at Headbangers Gym where he is getting in what manager Hal Chernoff calls "high-level sparring and training." The bout will be an ESPN2 Friday Night Fights event to be held at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center.
