Female champion Jiselle Salandy dies at 21

According to the WBC, female champion Jiselle Salandy tragically passed away after an auto accident in Trinidad and Tobago. She was only 21 years old and would have turned 22 on January 25th. She had a record of 17-0. The WBC issued the following statement: "words are small praise to describe a girl, barely a woman, who conquered the ring as well as the hearts of so many. She was an honorable member of the WBC family. Her spirit will be with us at ringside every time a fighter steps between the ropes. She died a Champion, and will remain one, long after news of this tragedy pass. The WBC wants to extend their prayers to her mentor, Boxu Potts as well as her family.
