Disappointing Opponent for the #1 Rated Heavyweight in MMA
The Universally recognized #1 heavyweight in MMA, Fedor Emelianenko, will be taking on Hong Man Choi on New Year’s Eve in Japan. In his first official bout with M-1 Global, Emelianenko is taking on more of a freak show than a legitimate opponent. Emelianenko holds a professional record of 26-1 with 19 stoppages. Choi holds a record of 1-0. The long reigning Pride Heavyweight Champion is taking on a fighter who has only 1 professional fight. For MMA fans, this is disappointing to say the least. Choi is very popular in Japan but more because of his freakish 7 foot 2 inch 350lb frame than for his success as an MMA professional. Source: Sherdog
