awesomeald: yo monte hows it going, whats your plans and whens your next fight

MONTE_BARRETT: They're trying to put me on the May 14 undercard to stay shape on my road to becoming the heavyweight champion of the world.

fausto_in_dallas: what's in the future for you monte?

fausto_in_dallas: when is the title shot coming?

MONTE_BARRETT: Nothing but greatness. The future is all about staying focused and being more active. I'm just trying to get three fights in this year and get that belt.

MONTE_BARRETT: Everything depends on me becoming champ.

awesomeald: whats your favorite rocky movie, and if you win the championship you going to let it go to your head and stiff people like other champions do, and what about an auto brother

MONTE_BARRETT: My favorite Rocky is Rocky 3. I'm never going to let nothing go to my head. I'm too real for that. I always knew I would be champ and I just take that as something that's a part of me already.

MONTE_BARRETT: I already consider myself the champ, now I just need the belts, so to answer your question, No, I'm not going to let it go to my head.

fausto_in_dallas: which of the current champs would you like to fight?

fausto_in_dallas: would you fight joe mesi again in the future...i thought he got lucky against you.

MONTE_BARRETT: I'll fight anyone. I'm mandatory for the WBC and IBF. Klitschko is about to fight Rock and we don't know what the outcome will be, but I wouldn't mind fighting anyone.

MONTE_BARRETT: Yes I would fight him again in the future. But he's got something bigger than me that he's got to fight.

awesomeald: what do you think about the beef between rock and toney and do you think james is a phoney, and do you spend a lot of time on boxingtalk ?

MONTE_BARRETT: I didn't know they had beef, that's how long it's been since I've been on Boxingtalk

fausto_in_dallas: what's your life like outside of boxing?

MONTE_BARRETT: lol

MONTE_BARRETT: Hectic, but peaceful.

MONTE_BARRETT: It's a double-edged sword. I spend a lot of time with my kids. That's my balance.

MONTE_BARRETT: Things are hectic though because I'm trying to make the right business decisions before I become champ.

awesomeald: you going to get that eye of the tiger monte?

awesomeald: or you already got it

MONTE_BARRETT: I got it baby.

MONTE_BARRETT: It ain't going nowhere, even when I win the title.

awesomeald: how political is boxing ?

MONTE_BARRETT: VERY political. It's something that could drain you and take all your enery, but at the end of the day it's a good experience and it teaches you a lot.

kidko: hey Monte...what's up with Byrd...is he going to face you now that it looks like he won't be facing Wladimir

MONTE_BARRETT: I hope so. They say Byrd's of a feather flock together and I hope to be clipping Byrd's wings pretty soon.

awesomeald: is that something that you wish could be cleaned up

awesomeald: the political side

MONTE_BARRETT: I would love to be the saviour for all mankind, but it's going to take a lot more than me to clean it up. All of the big money makers need to get together and form a union to make some real change

awesomeald: you know that aint going to happen

MONTE_BARRETT: probably not.

kidko: yo Monte...who do you consider to be the top dog in the heavyweight division...if you had to pick just one heavyweight champion

MONTE_BARRETT: Me.

MONTE_BARRETT: Just go and ask everyone who's the most exciting heavyweight without a title. When I fight Chris Byrd I WILL be the heavyweight champion of the world and it's going to be heaven.

awesomeald: you think you got a raw deal against mesi

MONTE_BARRETT: Yes I got a raw deal. Everything happens for a reason though and it was a win-win for me. I won that night and he lost. I'm talking about off the scorecards.

awesomeald: do you feel bad for him cause of what happened to him ?

MONTE_BARRETT: Of course I do. I am human being. Boxing is a tight knit family. We go to war with each other but at the end of the day it's so we could feed our family. I hope all goes well for him and his family.

BQEmpire: sup Monte...good win in that Beck victory. Just curious...you seemed to be getting tired towards the middle rounds. Do you think it was due to the fact that you were trying to KO Beck from the beginning?

MONTE_BARRETT: No. I was getting tired in the middle rounds because I started fast, threw a lot of shots. The plan was to start fast, catch a second wind and take it to another level, which I did.

MONTE_BARRETT: Nobody can take it to my level in the second half of a fight.

awesomeald: what do you think of the contender

MONTE_BARRETT: I love the show. I'm a fiend for that show. We miss going to the movies to watch the contender.

kidko: how much longer do you plan on fighting

MONTE_BARRETT: I'm 33 right now, by the time I'm 36 I'll be at the end of my rope. I'm want to take the title, defend it a few times take my million dollar money, million dollar looks and start my broadcasting life.

awesomeald: do you ever look back and say wow im really lucky cause there a lot of people sacrigficing trying to get to where you are and your already there"

MONTE_BARRETT: No. I don't look back and say wow I'm lucky. I say I put a lot of work into this and hard work pays off. You just have to look at the work you put in. You get out what you put in. God put me here to fight and that's what I'm going to do.

MONTE_BARRETT: I'm going with Toney and Rahman.
