FIGHTS AT THE FITZ RETURNS FEBRUARY 24th

Press Release: Prize Fight Boxing will return to the Fitz Casino & Hotel in Tunica, Mississippi, on February 24, 2007. The five-bout card will be headlined by undefeated featherweight Leon Bobo 15-0 (2 KOs) from St. Louis, MO. Bobo will be opposed in the eight-rounder by tough veteran Jesus Perez 24-14-2 (14 KOs) from Miami, FL. Perez, a former world title challenger, looks to derail Bobo's ascent up the rankings. Bobo, a slick southpaw, last won an eight-round decision over Natalio Ponce.  Prize Fight Boxing and The Fitz are expecting another sold out crowd at the popular fight series that can be seen via tape delay on Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS). Prize Fight has sold out 55 consecutive casino shows and is well on it's way to a 56th straight sellout. Greg Gaston & Dave Woloshin will call the blow by blow and Steve Farhood will bring his wealth of boxing knowledge to the broadcast as he serves as the color commentator for the event.

The undercard will feature heavyweight Joell Godfrey 5-0 (4 KOs) from East St. Louis, IL as he battles Alabama heavyweight Larry White 3-3 (2 KOs) in a six-round feature bout. Fight fans at The Fitz will remember Godfrey from his breathtaking fight this past January 20th against Wes Taylor. Godfrey won a six-round unanimous decision over Taylor but had him down multiple times throughout the night. Also on the undercard will be crowd favorite DeAndrey Abron 11-1 (8 KO's) fighting out of Memphis, TN. Abron recently ended Kippy Warren's night at the Fitz early as he knocked Warren unconscious this past November in a bout that all fight fans are sure to remember for a long time. Abron's opponent in the six-round light heavyweight bout will be John Turner from St. Paul, MN. Further, Memphis teenage prospect Ira Terry 13-0 (9 KO's) will lace up the gloves against Hassan Wasswa, 3-5-2, in a super featherweight match-up.  Rounding out the exciting five- bout card will be a welterweight match up between Memphis' own Marteze Logan and Sammy Sparkman.
