Eyubov ready for all comers, would move up to welter for Broner, Algieri!

GL: Congrats on your recent victory. Can you give us some thoughts on your performance? It felt good to be back in the ring after a seven month layoff. I injured my and in the fight with Mayfield so after the time off, I wanted to go the distance. That was a choice I made to go the rounds and get the rust off. I didn't want to finish the fight early, I wanted to go the distance to get my feet back under me so I can be ready for a bigger fight next time.

GL: Was it frustrating to have a great win over Mayfield to have the hand injury suffered during the bout prevent you from immediately capitalizing on the win?

Bakhtiyar Eyubov: "Every athlete knows that part of being a professional is having injuries. I'm ok with it and now I'm working out twice a day and I've gotten my body in condition to be ready for fights at the top level."

GL: Are you expecting your next fight to take place against a top 15 contender?

BE: "I would love that, I want to keep stepping up and I want to fight for a world title as soon as possible. I always want to fight the best available contenders out there and I understand that boxing is a hard sport to climb the ladder, but I've proven that I'm willing to take significant step up's and Mayfield was a 10 rounder so I feel ready and confident to start to make my climb against contenders on my way to a world title fight."

GL: What are your thoughts on the junior welterweight division?

BE: "I think there's some really good talent in the division, I take every fight seriously and even if I'm fighting a journeyman I treat it like a title fight. I think there's lots of talent in the division and I want to fight the best."

GL: You have a very TV friendly style, how important is it for you to be on TV to accelerate this process?

BE: "I feel like my style is made for TV, I don't want to fight where nobody sees me. I always train hard and I want to bring the excitement for the boxing fans in the arenas and on TV. Every time I fight I'm going to give it all I got and put my life on the line. I made the trip here to this country to make a name for himself and become world champion."

GL: Is there anybody you'd like to fight that you feel would be a great opportunity for you to take your career to the next level?

BE: "I'd like to fight the top names in the division, I like fights with Crawford and Victor Postol. Chris Algieri, Adrien Broner, I'm ready to make a step up against those guys as well."

GL: Who do you like in Crawford-Diaz?

BE: "It should be a good fight, but I think it will be a one sided decision victory over Diaz."

GL: When can boxing fans expect you back in the ring?

BE: "I'm ready to fight that depends on my promoter. I hope to be back in the month of May."

GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?

BE: "I'm very grateful to the United States of America and the opportunities I have here. You can be black, white, yellow, any color and you still have a chance to make it in the world. I'm very grateful to be here and I'm looking forward to thanking the fans again in my next performance."
