Boxingtalk here with WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko. How are you feeling coming off the back surgery and this stretch of inactivity? "My wheelchair stays here and I will use it after the press conference and I plan to use a wheelchair for the prepartation and all of the sparring. (Vitali begins to laugh)
JA: You must not be thinking about Hasim Rahman too much if you're training in a wheelchair.
Vitali Klitschko: "I was kidding. I'm healthy right now and I will give my best to be in top form on November 12 and show all of my boxing talents."
JA: What do you think about Hasim Rahman and others questioning the authenticity of your injury?
Vitali Klitschko: "That's not true. I never was a liar and I think I don't need to present a surgery report for everybody. I had a surgery and that's why I couldn't fight. For that I want to say that I'm sorry to all boxing fans for long break. Right now I am back and I'm ready to present a good fight on November 12 and I will be in good shape."
JA: You haven't fought since Danny Williams last December, how have you been able to maintain your confidence after such a long stretch of inactivity and back surgery?
Vitali Klitschko: "I will be ready to show great performance on November 12. With my confidence and my shape, everything is fine."
JA: Is there anything about Hasim Rahman that worries you?
Vitali Klitschko: "No. I never worry about my opponent. I don't want to underestimate him because I know he's a strong fighter and a strong opponent so I will be there to do my best to be the winner."
JA: Are you looking to unify the titles if you get by Rahman?
Vitali Klitschko: "Yes."
JA: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?
Vitali Klitschko: "Tune in on November 12. It's going to be a great fight. I'm going to defend my championship against Rahman. I'm looking to be the heavyweight champion for a long time and I'm going to beat Hasim Rahman."
