Exclusive Interview: Nate Campbell

GL: What's good Nathaniel? "Right now I'm just waiting on this fight. I'm trying to be patient and wait for this fight to happen. I'm waiting for my promoter to get back to me with the date, so I could shed this last five pounds, get into the ring and become world champion."

GL: Based on what I've been hearing, I understand there's a chance this rematch with Peden could open up the Klitschko-Williams PPV.

NC: "I don't know. I have no idea. Klitschko and Williams. From what I've been hearing Vernon Forrest could be on that card. I don't know if I'm going to fight on that card, I don't know when it's going to happen. Right now, like everyone else I'm a victim of what's going on around me."

"I'm just waiting for this shot at the title. Getting back in the ring with Robbie Peden is something I've been dying to do since March. Peden made a lot of statements on Boxingtalk.com after the first fight. He said some things about my character, but ohh he just don't know. If he ever thought he was in trouble, it's on and popping right now.

"My every thought is him. My every desire is him. When I wake up in the morning and I run all those miles, I think about him. I'm going to really make people in Boxingtalk land want to tune in on this because I'm not even having sex. And I don't care how long it takes, I think I'm just going keep all this anger built up on the inside and take out on Peden when I begin to put my hands on him.

"Where I'm from they call it being cut from asshole to elbow, when I'm done with him they're going to have to do some strange things to get his functions right again.

GL: Other than keeping your hands up, what else can we expect to see you do differently against Peden this time?

NC:"I was doing everything right the first time except for that one lapse in judgement. Peden basically knows he's not physically strong enough to keep me from hurting him. He can't say that he's in better shape because that ain't the case. There's really nothing he could say other than last time I knocked him out.

"But everyone saw what happened. I was winning, I put my hands down, stuck my chin out and got what I deserved. I'll tell you what, this time, you're going to call him crazy for stepping inside the ring with me again.

"With all the talking he did, he thought he was never going to have to see me again. He actually believed that he won the war back in March. I want to let him know something, how wrong he is. He's going to have to see my black behind again. And this time I'm out to hurt him.

"Last time it was a game. It got so easy in the fight that I took for granted what could happen. But I'm going to tell you what's going to happen this time. I'm going to put my hands on him. I want to hurt him. I don't just want to beat him, I don't just want to humiliate him, I want to hurt him.

"I started making peace with my kids and my God the day I heard this fight was getting made. I'm coming to fight, kill or die. He'd better be coming to do the same thing.

GL: Do you mean humiliate him without showing off?

NC: "I just want to punish him. I want to beat him up. Me putting it on him trying to knock his head off is going to be humiliating to him. At this point, all you need to do is put him the opposite corner and I'll take it from there. When the bell rings he's going to be along for the ride. And I'm driving. And he knows this.

"I didn't hit him nowhere near as hard as I'm going to hit him. He's going to really feel the anger coming out of my gloves. I'm not going to do any talking in the ring. And I don't care where the fight is made. Goossen wants to take the fight to Australia, but we could go to hell it doesn't make no difference to me. I don't care where we fight, once the bell rings I'll handle it from there. The officials won't have to show up, all we need is a ref to stop the fight before he gets hurt.

"I'm going to hit him with body shots he's never felt in his life. And if he tries to protect his body, I'm going to take his head off. It doesn't make a difference where I hit him, he's going to get hurt!"

GL: When will there be an update on the date and place for this fight?

NC: As soon as my promoter tells me, I'm telling you.
