Exclusive Interview: Judah needs 32 stitches from headbutt

"All these punks at 140 need to know I'm coming for them"

GL: Congrats on your victory over Ernest Johnson, can you give us some thoughts on your performance? "It was a good display of Zab Judah. I'm not going to say I was at my best, but I felt good with the weight and coming back down in weight. I was fast, with good hands and good defense. Now all these punks at 140 need to know I'm coming for them."

GL: How do you rate your return to the 140 pound division?

Zab Judah: "I felt good, I probably give myself a 7. But I know what I can do and I know what I feel. I honestly give myself an 8 because I did what I wanted to do."

GL: Are you disappointed you didn't stop him?

ZJ: "No I wasn't."

GL: What are your thoughts on the Calzaghe-Jones fight and will you be moving forward with Square Ring from here on out?

ZJ: "Yeah. Square Ring is good people with me. John Wirt and Roy Jones have been good to me and we've got some plans for the future."

GL: Were you shocked at how Calzaghe handled Jones?

ZJ: "I was impressed. He did a good job and he let his hands go. Personally I was picking Roy to win the fight but Calzaghe went in there and did what he had to do."

GL: Who do you want to fight the most at 140?

ZJ: Ricky Hatton.

GL: Does that mean you think Hatton will beat Malignaggi on November 22?

ZJ: "I don't know, but I always go with Brooklyn so Paulie got the big ups in that one right there."

GL: So it would be more accurate to say you want the winner of that fight, correct?

ZJ: "Yeah, I definitely want the winner. I was just saying Hatton because it makes more dollars."

GL: If not Hatton, who else piques your interest at 140?

ZJ: "Nobody really. I have a lot of homies at 140. Kendall Holt is holding a belt and I like him all the way over Torres on December 13. He's from Jersey and I'm from New York and I've known him for a long time. I hope he knocks him out again."

GL: If the right fight presented itself at 147 would you take it?

ZJ: "Yes."

GL: The fight with Johnson took place at 144, are you sure you can make 140?

ZJ: "I know I can make it. The way I feel at 143, making 140 will be no problem. And I can't forget my other homies at 140, the Peterson brothers."

GL: What are your goals going into 2009?

ZJ: "Just coming back and doing what I do. Winning a world title, getting big fights and just chilling out."

GL: What's the soonest you could get back in the ring with those cuts and how many stitches did they require?

ZJ: "It took 32 stitches, but you know they call me Wolverine because I heal fast, so we'll see. But I will be back as soon as possible."
