Ryan Burton: How did training camp go?
Juan Manuel Marquez: I want to thank God for helping me train very hard and not get injured. It is a great challenge for me and I am training very hard for this fight.
RB:Â What made you decide you wanted to fight a guy who fights two weight classes higher than you?
JMM: In my mind, Floyd Mayweather is the number one pound-for-pound fighter and for me to be number one I have to fight number one.
RB:Â Do you plan on staying at welterweight?
JMM: I don't know yet. We are only thinking about this fight?
RB:Â What weight do you think you will weigh in at?
JMM:Â Probably at 143 or so.
RB:Â Do you have a particular fighters gameplan you want to follow when you step in the ring?
JMM: I like to study my opponents and make adjustments in the ring. That being said I studied the Castillo fight and want to do some of the things he did.
RB:Â What part of your gameplan can you give us?
JMM: Well Mayweather is elusive and a counter puncher. I am going to go after him. I think he may come straight for me when the fights start. I really think he might start out agressive. What I do know for sure is that I am going to go after him. I have trained very hard to gain muscle and I am ready to go.
RB:Â I have to ask why did you start drinking your own urine?
JMM: I started it about 5 fights ago. I know it sounds nasty but it works. It is a great way to get your vitamins and this way they are free (laughing)!
RB: This is a big fight for Mexico. Where do you think it ranks?
JMM: I would say with Sanchez vs Gomez, Chavez vs Taylor, Chavez vs Mayweather. I think it ranks right up there with the biggest fights in Mexico's history.
RB:Â Do you have a message for the fans?
JMM: I have prepared physically and mentally for this fight so I am ready to go. Second, I want to thank all of the Mexican people for supporting me and I want to dedicate this fight to the Mexican people who are going to be here and all of the Mexican people around the world.
