In this exclusive interview Douglin speaks out on this first loss of his career and his upcoming bout.

Benny Henderson Jr. You are looking to get back in the win column, so with the last fight being your first and only loss. What does this fight mean to you?

Denis Douglin: This fight means everything to me. This is my world title fight before my world title, that is how important this fight is for me, I have to win this fight. I am looking at it like my career is on the line, I am not trying tp ut a bunch of pressure on my shoulders but this is a make a break for my career. I am going into the ring very serious.

BH: You say you are not trying to put to much pressure on your shoulders coming into this bout, but you call it a make or break for your career. So, is there added pressure coming into this fight?

DD: Of course, you are only as good as your last fight so right now I am not that good. This fight is a must win situation, I am looking foward to get back to the win column and moving foward with my career.

BH: In your honest opinion, what did go wrong in your last fight?

DD: Well, what happened was, I went into the fight totally underestimating my opponent, I felt like it was goping to be an easy fight so my training camp wasn't as good as it was supposed to be. When I got into the ring, we had a game plan of not trying to knock the guy out. I caught him with a body shot early and he dropped and I saw that I decided to go for the knock out. So I started throwing bombs and I was catching him with everything but he was a tough guy. I was throwng bombs and had no defense and he caught me with a shot, it was a great shot. I think it was a left hand to my temple, I was hurt. I felt like I could of continued, so I was a little upset that the ref stopped the fight but at the same time it was my fault because I got hit with the shot. I do not blame anybody, I am just looking to move foward.

BH: Do you know anything about this cat you are fighting?

DD: I have seen him fight once, he is a tough Philly fighter. He has a winning record and he is a good opponent and I am looking forward to the fight.

BH: What can the fight fans expect from Denis Douglin in thie upcoming fight that they may not have seen in your previous bouts?

DD: I am going to showcase alot more skill alot more head movement, jabs, better combinations, i felt that I have upgraded everything in my arsneal. I think with me losing the last fight has helped me reevnvent myself and make my style better.

BH: Anything in closing?

DD: I want to thank everybody that has stayed by my side with the last fight, boxing is a real difficult sport. I am happy to see that I have a good follownig and thank you for staying with me. And for the people who have never seen me, look out because I am a future champion.
