Saturday in Mexico City, Jackie Nava will return to the ring at age 40. Nava (35-4-4) had had multiple reigns as a women's 122-pound champion, including a time in 2014-2015 when she held the WBA and WBC titles at the same time. Nava has been inactive for over a year, and has not won since 2018. According to the WBC, Nava will be facing another Mexican, Estrella Valverde (18-6-2). Valverde usually campaigns at 115 pounds and she lost her last fight (in October). Promoter Zanfer will hold the fight in the TV Azteca facilities in Mexico City behind closed doors.
