Mauricio  Pastrana KO8 Antonio Escalante... A Mauricio Pastrana right hand dropped Antonio Escalante face first onto a Cicero, Illinois canvas and provided a surprise ending to a great junior featherweight battle. Coming in, promoters were hyping Escalante as "one of the hottest prospects in boxing" and Pastrana looked to be several wars and weight classes past his prime. Pastrana, who won his first world title at 105 pounds, grabbed a regional 122 pound belt this time as he got off the deck from two knockdowns and changed the course of Escalante's career. The fifth was a particularly thrilling round as Pastrana was down but recovered to rock Escalante.
