WBA middleweight champion Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara (pictured) held a media workout in Las Vegas on Tuesday. On a Saturday, September 14th pay-per-view broadcast available on Prime Video from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Lara will defend his world title against former two-division champion Danny “Swift” Garcia. Here is what Lara had to say Tuesday from the Pound 4 Pound Gym in Las Vegas:
“I would tell Danny Garcia to be ready. He was a great champion for sure, but now he’s in my division and I’m going to show him that this is something completely different.
“I don’t know how the weight will affect Danny, because it depends how he’s prepared for this fight. It can be a good thing or a bad thing. He better come ready, because this is gonna be new for him.
“I do everything I have to do to stay disciplined and take care of my body. As long as I keep doing that, I’m going to stay at this top level.
“I’m very thankful that I made the sacrifices that I had to in order to reach these heights. I’m reaping the rewards now and I’m going to keep going.”
